Aadi attagasam

I don’t know how many of you are interested in ads. We have been brought up watching DD. They made ads a thing to hate, because of their excessive ads during prime time movies and those final and first ball eating ad break during fiercely fought India Vs X matches (and why our team ‘fights’ hard even with weak teams is another matter).

Today’s TV channels have better discipline in telecasting ads. These days, (most) advertisements are a treat to watch. There is healthy competition between ad agencies. The era of mud slinging ads looks to have found its death. Everyone is working for their survival rather than trying to belittle their competitors (at least in their ads).

Recent years have seen advertisements made for occasions. This season is the Aadi sale time and all textile showrooms have come up with glamorous and colorful advertisements that are a big hit with the households. We can easily relate terms like ‘glamorous’, colorful’, ‘beautiful’ with textile ads. This season adds a new term-‘Foot tapping’ - to textile ads and that is the reason for starting this topic. The trend this time is good songs for ads. Some are fast songs and some melodious and packed well with nice dance movements.

Starting from the musical Textile India ad to Chennai silks, Saravana stores, SPB silks, Pothys, Erode Barani -the list goes on…all these ads are very good. And that, majority of the ads are made with Chennai modeling girls, is another nice trend.

AJAX

If you follow the blogosphere, you would notice that the past few months it's been abuzz with all the talk about AJAX. It's supposed to stand for Asynchronous JAvascript and XML. But it need not necesarrily involve XML. As many people would love to point out this was something that Microsoft invented(and got it right).

All this buzz started after google showcased
google suggest
(You haven't seen that site yet?). It's all about providing the user with the 'real-time' experiance that web apps have so far struggled to provide. Check out the following links to know more about AJAX:

http://www.webpasties.com/xmlHttpRequest/

http://developer.apple.com/internet/webcontent/xmlhttpreq.html

So next time you built that snazzy web app of yours consider XMLHTTPRequest, it might add some value.

BTW, No, I did not make up the word blogosphere, it does exist.
