Minoo.
Hi Friends,
Thank you for your interest on this.
I am proud to say that I was one of the Student members to that project.
They are 10 professors; each is heading a module of the satellite development.
As you aware it need the work of people from different branches.
A mathematics professor and his teamwork on the algorithm for Orbital mechanics,
a team is taking care of Base band Electronics module, another team is developing the power management module, the other team work on mechanical structure design, one team work on Antenna design , aero dynamics team, Bus interface Logic team etc.
Whatever I listed above are the basic modules for any satellite.
My team is led by Professor V.Vaidehi, Electronics Engineering Department, MIT, Anna University. Our team involved in development of the software for the "Store and Forward" module. It is the Primary payload of the satellite and it is the only application of the satellite.
It is a very simple application. One user (Earth station) can send a message to other user. Its possible to send one to one message as well as broadcast messages.
I have participated in the design of the module and the basic development of the module.
The design include the Memory management, a simple Data transfer protocol Design ( Its similar to HDLC) and a Real-time OS(RTOS) for task scheduling.
Now the integration testing of the software with other modules is going on.
I have attended couple of discussion meetings with ISRO scientists; they were very co-operative and helpful. I am very happy to get an opportunity to work and contribute to this pilot project, which is a maiden attempt in India.
Thank you for your overwhelming support.
Cheers,
MS.Muthuselvam
