AJAX

If you follow the blogosphere, you would notice that the past few months it's been abuzz with all the talk about AJAX. It's supposed to stand for Asynchronous JAvascript and XML. But it need not necesarrily involve XML. As many people would love to point out this was something that Microsoft invented(and got it right).

All this buzz started after google showcased
google suggest
(You haven't seen that site yet?). It's all about providing the user with the 'real-time' experiance that web apps have so far struggled to provide. Check out the following links to know more about AJAX:

http://www.webpasties.com/xmlHttpRequest/

http://developer.apple.com/internet/webcontent/xmlhttpreq.html

So next time you built that snazzy web app of yours consider XMLHTTPRequest, it might add some value.

BTW, No, I did not make up the word blogosphere, it does exist.

Relating to the buzz around Google Suggest, we developed a free service at Ajaxed.com that allows someone to add that "live search" capability to any website without custom programming. Try it and let us know how it works for you.
